The almighty blame game, who should be blamed?

I woke up this morning to the sound of serious chaos few houses away from mine and naturally I first took precaution by first telling my kids to be very quiet since‎ this is an unusual act in my neighborhood. I leave in a "mind your business " neighborhood Were everybody is independent from his/her neighbor. it's strictly a mind your business zone,  occasional "hi and hello" to your neighbor when driving out or in. 

I quickly wore a joggers and a T-shirt and DH wore a jean knicker and we both went close to our gate to see how safe it was to step out. DH and I quickly ran into the gate house on seeing heavily armed police men, a police vehicle and a crowd made up of about 15persons.

 What could have happened to involve the police?

 I asked DH. A woman among the crowd was‎ shouting on top of her lungs, hurling insults at someone we couldn't really see and also urging the police to make the arrest quickly while a group of about 4 women Were trying to calm her down

Shortly after, a young man of about 40years was escorted into the police vehicle and they left. We came out of our hiding place and opened our gate. We saw the little crowd dispersing already, DH suggested we return to the house and get set for the day saying it's not our business.  

I was really curious at this point, what would warrant the police arresting someone in our neighborhood whom we believe everyone has a clean character? 

I quickly greeted my next door neighbor who I know looks at me with this; "why do you have so many kids look"? After exchanging pleasantries she quickly went into the gist surrounding the arrest.

The woman shouting on top of her lungs called in the police to get her husband arrested. Ah  Why? He got the wife's cousin pregnant, took her to a quack to get rid of the pregnancy and it resulted to severe complications which ‎the said cousin is in a critical condition in the hospital. 

Why didn't the woman notice the illicit affair Before now? I asked without expecting an answer. My neighbor replied saying she works off-shore while her DH isn't employed and they both have a son together. The cousin was brought in to assist in looking after her son while she is away. ‎

Now I ask, who is to blame in this case? The woman who is working her butt off to make sure DH and kid is comfortable or the man who is left idle with the wife's cousin?
